Professional Accomplishments: With over 30 years in the engineering and construction industry, I am a licensed Professional Engineer in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. As past Principal Engineer and Owner of JC Wilson Engineering & Consulting LLC since 2019, I provide practical, cost-effective solutions for land development, stormwater mitigation, septic system strategies, and geotechnical challenges.
My career philosophy centers on value engineering—finding smart, efficient solutions that serve my clients’ needs while minimizing environmental impacts. This isn’t about following trends or checking boxes; it’s about thoughtful design that respects both budgets and our surroundings. I’ve found that good engineering often means doing more with less, and I work to ensure clients aren’t paying for unnecessary complexity.
Notable projects include the Coos Bay Village commercial development on the waterfront, the complex oil/water separator system within the BP Tank Farm on the Strait of Juan de Fuca in Port Angeles, and progressive subdivisions and municipal infrastructure projects throughout the Pacific Northwest, Idaho, and North Dakota. My work has spanned Combined Sewer Overflow systems, waterfront developments, large onsite septic installations, and stormwater utility planning for communities.
I actively engage with the communities I serve, having participated in the North Peninsula Building Association Board of Directors, Rotary, Chambers of Commerce local Economic Development Councils, and various municipal planning meetings. I integrate modern AI and GIS technologies not for their own sake, but because they genuinely improve project outcomes and reduce costs for clients.
Personal Accomplishments: I’ve built my career on the principle that effective engineering serves people first—whether that’s helping a residential client navigate permitting challenges or designing infrastructure that communities will rely on for decades. I take pride in streamlining processes and cutting through unnecessary complications, an approach that served well when I helped reduce overhead and expand capabilities as part-owner of NTI Engineering. Throughout hundreds of projects across multiple states, I’ve maintained focus on delivering practical solutions that work in the real world.
Outside of work: I practice the same minimalist principles in my personal life that I bring to my engineering work—living simply, reducing my footprint, and maintaining a humble approach to life on the Southern Oregon Coast, and now in areas around and Wenatchee, WA. I believe in actions over words when it comes to environmental stewardship. This perspective helps me relate to clients from all backgrounds, whether you’re a homeowner working on your first project or a developer managing complex commercial ventures. I enjoy the straightforward honesty of good engineering: problems have solutions, and the best solutions are often the simplest ones that respect both your investment and the land we’re working with.
